Free Amigurumi Bunny Head (No Sew)

Amigurumi Cute Bunny Head Free Crochet Pattern by Crafting Happiness
I have the cutest pattern to share with you this week: Amigurumi Bunny Head
I was looking for a quick win project, something that gave me that instant feeling of completion without the need for sewing separate pieces together. That’s how this no-sew bunny head was born, with the ears worked right into the head as you crochet.
This pattern is a standalone piece, but it shares the same adorable aesthetic as my other amigurumi designs.
The design is a simple, kawaii-style bunny face with two upright ears. The stitch used is the standard single crochet stitch, which keeps the finished piece firm and suitable for amigurumi.
This design is incredibly customizable just by changing the yarn weight and hook size. I wanted to see how much the size would change while using the exact same instructions.
I made a whole family of white bunny heads: a small one with aran yarn, a medium one with bulky yarn, and a large one with super bulky yarn.

If you have yarn scraps from other big projects, this is a wonderful pattern to use them up.
I used up a whole rainbow of leftover aran yarn to make a bunch of the small size so you can see how they look like in different colors.

This cute bunny head pattern is for you if you like kawaii decor, if you are a beginner learning amigurumi, or if you need quick makes to sell at markets.
What Can You Make with the Amigurumi Bunny Head?
The best part of having a pattern that scales so easily is the variety of finished items you can make with it.
The smallest version, made with Aran or DK yarn, is the ideal size to be a keychain, a backpack buddy, or a comforting pocket bug.

The medium-sized bunny, made with bulky yarn, works well as a small plushie or a shelf decoration for a nursery or a room with a cute aesthetic.
Finally, the largest version, crocheted with super bulky yarn, becomes a substantial, soft, and squishy plushie that is great for cuddling or as a statement decoration.
You can also give it a different character entirely by embroidering a simple ‘X’ for a mouth, giving it a look reminiscent of the classic Miffy character.

Crochet Amigurumi Bunny Head Written Pattern
The written pattern for the amigurumi bunny head is the same for all sizes, only the yarn/hook/eye size changes.
How To Read The Pattern
- The stitches between ( ) are to be made into the same stitch or chain space (as instructed).
- The stitches between * * are to be repeated as many times as instructed.
- If the pattern contains stitches between ** **, they are to be repeated as many times as instructed, including the * * repeats within.
- The number at the end of the row or round is the number of stitches unless otherwise stated.
- The body parts are crocheted in the round, without turning or closing the round, unless specifically stated to turn. Use a piece of yarn or a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.

Special Stitches
Single Crochet 2 together (sc2tog): This is like the amigurumi decrease except on this pattern, it is used to bulk up and cover the gaps between the ears.
It is made using the last used stitch on one ear and one unused stitch from the other ear. I used only one new stitch, and it counts as one stitch.
Watch the video tutorial if you are not sure how to crochet it.
The Ears

Make 2. Fasten off one, leave the yarn attached on the second one.
With Aran yarn and 4.5 mm hook, make a magic ring.
Round 1: 6sc into the magic ring = 6
Round 2: sc inc in each st around = 12
Round 3 – 8: sc in each stitch around for 6 rounds = 12
The Head

Start from where you finished on the second ear.
Round 1: sc in the next 2 stitches of the 2nd ear, sc2tog using the last used stitch from the 2nd ear and 1 un-used stitch from the 1st ear, continue on the 1st ear, sc, dec, sc in the next 4 sts, dec, sc in the next 2 sts, sc2tog using the last used stitch from the 1st ear and 1 un-used stitch from the 2nd ear, continue on the 2nd ear: sc, dec, sc in the next 4 sts, dec = 20
Round 2: *sc inc, sc next st* x 10 = 30
Round 3: *sc inc, sc in next 5 sts* x 5 = 35
Round 4 – 9: sc in each stitch around for 6 rounds = 35
Fill the ears with toy stuffing.
Place the eyes between Round 6 and Round 7, 8 stitches apart. Make sure the eyes are right below each ear.
Round 10: *sc dec, sc in next 5sts* x 5 = 30
Round 11: *sc dec, sc in next 3sts* x 6 = 24
Round 12: *sc dec, sc in next 2sts* x 6 = 18
Round 13: * sc dec, sc in next 1t* x 6 = 12
Finish stuffing the head. Fasten off and leave a long tail. Use the tail and the crochet hook to close the hole. Weave in the ends.
To turn it into the Miffy character, embroider an ‘X’ for the mouth.
