I decided to create this crochet Labubu ragdoll because I wanted a soft, flat toy that was easy for babies to hold while still having a fun, recognizable look. It is a quick project that focuses on simple shapes and comfort.

Project Overview
This crochet pattern helps you make a unique ragdoll that stands out from typical stuffed toys. Because the body is flat and has no stuffing, it is very floppy and lightweight. It measures about 40cm from the feet to the top of the ears, making it a great size for cuddling or carrying around.

The inspiration behind this design
The inspiration for this crochet Labubu ragdoll came from my love for the kawaii aesthetic and cute characters. I wanted to make a version that felt soft, gentle, and perfect for the youngest members of the family.
While many toys are full of stuffing, I decided to make this one as a ragdoll, which means the body is flat and unstuffed. This makes it so much easier for tiny hands to grab and hold onto.
I remember sitting down with my yarn and hook, trying to capture that playful expression while keeping the project beginner-friendly and quick to finish.
It’s a design born from the idea that sometimes the simplest, softest toys are the ones that bring the most comfort.

Why is Labubu so popular?
It became a huge hit because of the “Lisa effect” after Lisa from BLACKPINK showed off her own Labubu charms on social media. Now, fans everywhere want one to hang on their bags just like their favorite K-pop star.
The fun part is that these toys usually come in “blind boxes,” meaning you don’t know which one you are getting until you open it.
This makes finding a rare version feel like winning a prize. Because they are hard to find and look cool, collectors love to trade them and show them off online.
What exactly is a ragdoll?
A ragdoll, or lovey, is a toy designed to be a comfort object for infants and toddlers. Unlike standard amigurumi, the body is left flat, which gives it a very flexible and “blanky-like” feel. This makes it less bulky and much easier for a baby to sleep with or carry in a diaper bag.
The colors I used are modern and fit well in a contemporary nursery, but you can easily swap them to match your own room. This specific design is part of a larger themed nursery collection I have been working on.

Why you’ll love this Labubu pattern
- Fast Project: You can finish the body in just one or two evenings.
- Safe for Babies: There are no hard parts or heavy stuffing to worry about.
- Beginner Level: The stitches and shaping are kept very simple.
- Easy Care: Since it has no stuffing in the body, it is easy to wash and dry without getting clumpy.
- Stash Friendly: You only need small amounts of yarn for the face and ears.

The perfect gift for new arrivals
This is a wonderful choice if you need a gift for a baby shower. Moms love receiving handmade items because it shows you put time and thought into their new arrival. It is a gentle first friend for any infant to snuggle with during nap time.
It also makes a great birthday present for older toddlers who like cute characters. It is lightweight and portable, so it often becomes the favorite toy that goes everywhere with them.

Is this pattern right for you?
- Labubu Fans: Those who want a cuddly, handmade version of the famous monster without having to hunt for expensive or rare blind boxes.
- New Crocheters: Those who want to try making a toy without the stress of complicated shaping.
- Last-Minute Gift Makers: People who need a high-quality handmade gift in a short amount of time.
- Parents and Grandparents: Anyone wanting to make a safe, soft toy for a little one in the family.
- Nursery Decorators: Those looking for a cute character to sit on a shelf and match a room theme.

Materials you will need to make this Labubu ragdoll
For your Labubu ragdoll, I used Aran yarn in blue and beige for the main parts, plus a little bit of Double Knit yarn in black and white to finish the face.
You’ll need three different hooks to get the sizing just right: a 5mm, a 4.5mm, and a 4mm hook.
Make sure you also have some stuffing for the head, a darning needle, scissors, and some pins to help you put everything together!
If you don’t have these exact yarns or they aren’t sold where you live, please check my yarn substitutions page. It will help you find a similar yarn so your Labubu turns out the right size.
