With green chunky yarn and a 6mm crochet hook, make a magic ring
Round 1: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 11dc in the magic ring, sl st to close the round, pull the magic ring tail to close it = 12
Round 2: ch3 (counts as 1dc), dc in the same st where you sl st, ch1, *(2dc) in next, ch1* x 11, sl st to close the round = 24
Round 3: ch3 (counts as 1dc), (2dc) in next, ch1, *dc in next, (2dc) in next, ch1* x 11, sl st to close the round = 36
Round 4: ch3 (counts as 1dc), dc in next, (2dc) in next, ch1, *dc in next 2sts, (2dc) in next, ch1* x 11, sl st to close the round = 42
Rounds 5-27(16): Repeat Round 4 increasing each section by 1dc. ch3 (counts as 1dc), dc in next s, (2dc) in next, ch1,*dc in next st, (2dc) in next, ch1* x 11, sl st to close the round = previous stitch count + 6
Don’t fasten off, we will continue with the border
The Border
Special Stitches: Picot Stitch (Pst) – ch3, sl st in the base stitch (NOT the base chain) by inserting the hook through the middle of the stitch and behind the loops.
Round 28: ch1, sc in the same st where you sl st, ch4, sk4, *sc in next, ch4, sk4*, repeat from* until the end of the round, sl st to close the round.
Round 29: sl st into the next ch4 space, ch1, (sc, hdc, dc, tr, Pst, tr, dc, hdc, sc) all into the same ch4 space where you sl st, *(sc, hdc, dc, tr, Pst, tr, dc, hdc, sc) all into the next ch4 space*, repeat from * until you have crocheted in every ch4 space, sl st into the fiirst sc in the round to close it, fasten off, weave in all the ends.
The Sunflowers
With brown chunky yarn and a 6mm crochet hook, create a magic ring leaving a longer tail than usual.
Round 1: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 13dc into the magic ring, sl st to close the round, pull the tail of the magic ring to close it = 14
Fasten off and leave a long tail. Use a needle to thread the end at the center next to the other end. Use the 2 ends to make a knot, but don’t cut or weave in the ends. Join the yellow yarn with a slip knot in any stitch.
Round 2: ch2, (dc, tr, ch2, sl st at the top of the treble) in the same st where you joiined, (tr, dc, ch2, sl st) in next st * ch2, (dc, tr, ch2, sl st at the top of the treble) in next st, (tr, dc, ch2, sl st) in next st* x 6 = 7 petals
Fasten off and weave in all yellow ends.
Assembly
Use the 2 brown ends to attach each flower to the border, in between the leaves. Leave 3 leaves between the flowers.

Crochet Sunflower Bouquet Blanket – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I use a different yarn weight (e.g., DK yarn)?
Yes, you can! If you use a lighter yarn like DK (light worsted yarn #3), the blanket and sunflowers will come out a bit smaller, but they will still keep their shape. You can also adjust the blanket size by adding more rounds or starting with more chains if the pattern allows.
Do I have to use the same yarn brand as you to get the same result?
No, you don’t. You can use any brand you like! Just pay attention to the yardage, as different brands can have different amounts of yarn per ball. I often recommend yarns that I know wash well and have beautiful colors. You can find a list of my recommended alternative yarns here: My Yarn Alternatives.
Can I change the size of the blanket?
Yes! The pattern is designed to be adjustable. You can easily change the size by adding or reducing the number of rounds for the main blanket and adding more sunflowers.
Can I sell items made with your pattern?
Yes, you can, provided you make them yourself on a small scale (example, handmade to order or sold at craft fairs). Mass production of items using my patterns is not allowed without my written approval. Please check the copyright section for more details.
