This motif is made with double crochet stitches. I also made a tutorial on how to make a round puff flower motif using single crochet stitches.

You can finish a whole crochet puff flower round motif in just a few minutes. It is a great way to use up your leftover yarn while making something useful for your home.

You will find this crochet puff flower round motif pattern easy to follow because it uses double crochet stitches, which are easy for a beginner crocheter.

I used dark pink and green yarn, but you can change the colors of your crochet puff flower round motif to match your home or your favorite outfit.

One of the best things about the crochet puff flower round motif is how easily you can make it larger by following the increase pattern for the rounds.

Using double crochet stitches makes this round motif work well for things that need to move and bend, like a crochet scarf. The petals on the flower will give a fun 3D effect that feels softer to the touch.

Sometimes it is much easier to see the stitches in motion than to read them on a page. I made a video that shows exactly how to turn a puff flower into a circle motif from start to finish.

With the color of your choice, create a magic ring.

Round 1: ch1, 12sc in the magic ring, pull the tail to close the magic ring, sl st to close the round = 6

Round 2: all stitches made in the back loop only, leaving the front loops exposed, **ch2, *yo, insert hook into the same st, yo, and pull up a loop* x 3, *yo, insert hook into the next st, yo and pull up a loop * x 3 (you now have 13 loops on your hook), yo and pull through all but last loop on your hook (you’ll have 2 loops on your hook), yo and pull through both loops, ch2, sl st into the next st** x 6 = 6 puff stitches (6 petals).

If you crochet over the yarn tail from the magic ring, you will halve the number of ends you will need to weave in at the end.

Turn your flower with the bottom facing you. We will be working in the exposed front loops we created when we crocheted the puff flower. Join the green yarn with a slip knot in any back loop.

Round 1: ch2, dc in the same loop where you joined, (2dc) in next 11 loops, sl st at the top of ch2 to close the round, turn = 24

Round 2: ch3, (2dc) in next, *dc in next, (2dc) in next* x 11, sl st at the top of ch3 to close the round = 36

Round 3: ch3, dc in next, (2dc) in next, *dc in next 2sts, (2dc) in next * x 11, sl st at the top of ch3 to close the round = 48

To make the circle bigger, repeat Round 3 by adding 1dc in between the (2dc) on every round up.
