3in1 Ice Dragon Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern
3in1 Ice Dragon Baby Blanket – Crochet Pattern by Crafting Happiness
This Ice Dragon Baby Blanket pattern was a challenge for me. Not in designing it, but in making it simple and understandable enough so that anyone can make it, without taking away from its beauty. I did not want a plain-looking dragon.
After a lot of trial and error, I think I’ve done just that: a beautiful design that is simple and easy to follow and your little one will adore. What do you think?
And what a great idea! A cuddly warm blanket or playmat that the baby can play with and then folds into a decorative dragon toy to decorate the nursery.
Use it as a playmat or stroller blanket if you wish. This blanket is perfect for a minimalist home, it’s gender-neutral and looks gorgeous when folded and rested on the cot.
I used the pointy crocodile stitch for the blanket part and chose shades of blue to turn my dragon into an ice dragon.

3in1 Ice Dragon Baby Blanket – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
I am stuck on this pattern, can you help?
Every pattern you purchase from my shop comes with help and support. I will help you get unstuck and finish your project, so you can buy with confidence and try something new.
If you are completely new to crocheting, I recommend starting with beginner patterns and building up your confidence, pay attention to the skill level of the patterns and buy only if you are already at that level.
That doesn’t mean that you can’t contact me if there is a mistake or something unclear with this pattern, it simply means that you will need to learn the stitches, and the techniques, and learn how to read a pattern on your own.
You can contact me by messaging me on my Facebook page, Crafting Happiness, or by messaging me on Instagram.
Can I crochet this blanket using Aran yarn (worsted yarn #4)?
Yes, you can! The body parts will come out a little larger than my own, but still in the same shape. The blanket can be adjusted by simply crocheting more chains in the starting chain. Instructions on how to adjust the size of the blanket are in the pattern.
Do I have to use the same yarn brand as you to get the same result?
No, you don’t. You can use any brand you like but pay attention to the yardage, different brands have different yardage. I recommend this yarn because it has beautiful colors and washes well.
Here is a list of alternative yarns I recommend.
Can I change the size of the blanket?
Yes, you can. Each pattern can be adjusted by simply changing the number of starting chains and rows. Please keep in mind that making the blanket a lot larger than advised will change the way it looks when folded.
Can I sell items made with your pattern?
Yes, you can if you make them yourself. Mass production of my patterns is not allowed without written consent from me, the designer. Please check the copyright section for more details.

I am wondering if you make the dragons and sell them. My daughter is having a baby and her theme is baby dragons for the baby’s room. She bought the pattern and I thought I could do it but I’m a novice to crocheting. I have asked several people but they all say it is too hard for them. I would love to purchase one for her and my grandson who is coming at the end of August.

This blanket turned out better than I expected. So pleased. A lot of time and effort goes into this blanket but it’s worth it. My granddaughter who’s one and a half loves it.

I can’t even put into words how I feel about this blanket. I am a huge fan of dragon’s and was purrusing Pinterest when I came upon this most beautiful, amazing pattern. I have put in for the contest to try to win the pattern. I am in love and plan to make it as a lapghan for myself and of course it will be a decoration on my bed. I have a feeling I’m going to be making several of these for family and friends. I of course looked through all of your patterns and I am so impressed with your work. I have been crocheting since I was 8 years old. But I’ve never gotten into the design side. I leave that to the experts lol. I can make anything given a pattern so I’m excited and can hardly wait to see if I win this pattern. Thank You so very much for your time and brilliance in making these patterns I know it’s hard work and very time consuming. Happy Halloween 🎃
