It’s the newest addition to my animal baby blanket pattern collection. It makes a great project if you’re looking for a fun easy-level pattern.

And what a wonderful idea! A cuddly warm blanket that the baby can play with. It then folds into a cute calico cat toy to decorate the nursery.

Because of its bright colors—red, yellow, and white—this blanket looks lovely in any home. It’s a perfect gift for a little one.

I used the cutest stitch pattern for the blanket part. It’s called The Cat Stitch. This pattern creates fun cat shapes with pointy ears.

The colors were chosen to resemble the playful look of a calico cat. I think it turned out so cute! What do you think?

I made this pattern with double knit yarn. You can also use aran yarn if you wish.

Adjustments can be made to the blanket size by making more chains in the starting chain.

You can change the colors to make your own cat. Maybe a black and white cat? Or a ginger cat using orange and white yarn?

You can replicate the coat color of your fur baby and have a crocheted replica hanging on your armchair. I think that would be so much fun!

Can I crochet this blanket using Aran yarn (worsted yarn #4)?

Yes, you can! The body parts will come out a little larger than my own, but still in the same shape. The blanket can be adjusted by simply crocheting fewer chains in the starting chain.

Instructions on how to adjust the size of the blanket are in the pattern. TIP: use the same crochet hook I recommend in the pattern to keep the size closer to the original.

Do I have to use the same yarn brand as you to get the same result?

No, you don’t. You can use any brand you like but pay attention to the yardage, different brands have different yardage. Check out the yarn alternatives I have put together for you.

Can I change the size of the blanket?

Yes, you can. Each pattern can be adjusted by simply changing the number of starting chains and rows. Please keep in mind that if you make the blanket much larger than advised, it will look different when folded.

Can a crocheted blanket be washed in a washing machine?

Yes, you can. Place it in a wash bag or pillowcase and follow the washing instructions on the yarn band. Use a short spin cycle.

Once washed, place it flat on a rack or any flat surface and let it air dry.

Can I sell items made with your pattern?
