How To Make A Double Crochet (DC) Stitch

The double crochet stitch is one of the most common basic stitches, it is taller than the half double crochet and because of that, your project works up faster.

The abbreviation for the double crochet stitch is dc.
This abbreviation is written in US terminology using Craft Yarn Council abbreviations.
Step 1: Start with a chain.

Step 2: Yarn over, insert hook in the 5th chain from hook, yarn over again and pull up a loop.
You will have three loops on your hook.



Step 3: Yarn over and pull through the first two loops on hook.
You will have two loops left on your hook.


Step 4: Yarn over again and pull through the two remaining loops on hook.
Your double crochet stitch is complete.
