Crochet 3in1 Safari Hippo Baby Blanket
Safari Hippo Baby Blanket – Crochet Pattern by Crafting Happiness
The Safari Hippo Baby Blanket was designed for those of you who adore safari animals and decided to design a safari-themed nursery.
And what a great idea! A cuddly warm blanket or play mat that the baby can snuggle with and then it folds into a decorative Hippo toy to brighten up the nursery.
This blanket is perfect for a minimalist home, even better if you’re saving space.
It’s design is gender-neutral and looks cute when folded and rested on the cot.
I used the Puff V stitch pattern for the blanket part and chose light shades of pink and purple for the colors because I think it looks really cute and gives of happy vibes. It has a cute hippo face and equally cute stubby legs. What do you think? Adorable, right?
As always, feel free to change the colors and embroider your own designs to personalize it for your little one.

Safari Hippo Blanket – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
I am stuck on this pattern, can you help?
Every pattern you purchase from my shop comes with help and support. I will help you get unstuck and finish your project, so you can buy with confidence and try something new.
If you are completely new to crocheting, I recommend starting with beginner patterns and building up your confidence, pay attention to the skill level of my patterns and buy only if you are already at that level.
You can contact me by messaging me on my Facebook page, Crafting Happiness, or by messaging me on Instagram.
Can I crochet this blanket using Aran yarn (worsted yarn #4)?
Yes, you can! The body parts will come out a little larger than my own, but still in the same shape. The blanket can be adjusted by simply crocheting fewer chains in the starting chain. Instructions on how to adjust the size of the blanket are in the pattern. TIP: use the same crochet hook I recommend in the pattern to keep the size closer to the original.
Do I have to use the same yarn brand as you to get the same result?
No, you don’t. You can use any brand you like but pay attention to the yardage, different brands have different yardage. Check out the yarn alternatives I have put together for you.
Can I change the size of the blanket?
Yes, you can. Each pattern can be adjusted by simply changing the number of starting chains and rows. Please keep in mind that making the blanket a lot larger than advised will change the way it looks when folded.
Can I sell items made with your pattern?
Yes, you can if you make them yourself. Mass production of my patterns is not allowed without written consent from me, the designer. Please check the copyright section for more details.
