Knotted Half Double Crochet
Knotted Half Double Crochet – Pattern Description
The Knotted Half Double Crochet Stitch looks elegant and more complicated than it actually is. And today, I’m going to show you how to crochet it.
The Knotted Half Double Crochet is a one-row repeat crochet pattern that is constructed with half double crochet stitches crocheted together to create a solid textured fabric with a braided look.
It’s such an easy pattern, you will not need to think about the pattern or count stitches once you make a couple of rows. It’s the perfect project to make while watching your favorite TV show.
Because of the bulkiness of the pattern, I used a 6mm hook for the starting chain and 1st row and then I switched to a 5mm hook.
Use a hook 1 size larger than the recommended one for the yarn you’re using for the starting chain and 1st round. Then switch to the recommended hook from row 2 onwards.
Another option would be to crochet a foundation single crochet which is a lot stretchier than making a chain and making sc stitches in it.
Below you will find the step-by-step written and photo instructions and the video tutorial I made for those of you who are visual learners.
