Smooch The Sloth Lovey – Crochet Pattern by Crafting Happiness
I’m excited to share Smooch The Sloth Lovey with you! This pattern is the younger brother of the Sloth Baby Blanket, and so it’s created with a similar design and color.
This baby lovey is perfect if you’re a beginner because it’s easy to do and only requires knowledge of basic crochet stitches and concepts of amigurumi.
Like the matching baby blanket, I stuck to the original colors of a sloth’s fur and added parts like claws and eye patches to create an adorable, real-like baby sloth.
The blanket is simple and made with double crochet stitches in the round using brown yarn, then I did the last two rounds with beige to have a border-like finish.
I used Aran yarn and a 4mm crochet hook for the amigurumi parts and a 5mm hook for the blanket. Depending on your needs and preference, you may use a different yarn weight and hook size.

Yes, you can! The body parts will come out a little smaller than my own, but still in the same shape. The blanket can be adjusted by simply crocheting more chains in the starting chain.
Do I Have To Use The Same Yarn Brand As You To Get The Same Result?
No, you don’t. You can use any brand you like but pay attention to the yardage, different brands have different yardage. Check out the yarn alternatives I have put together for you.
