Triceratops Dinosaur Baby Blanket

Triceratops Dinosaur Baby Blanket
The dinosaur baby blanket is my latest crochet pattern from the folding baby blankets collection.
What a great idea! A cuddly warm blanket that the baby can play with and then it folds into a decorative dino toy or decoration for the nursery.
This blanket is perfect for a minimalist home, it’s gender-neutral and looks gorgeous when folded and rested on the baby’s cot.

I have made quite a few designs since I posted this one, all suitable for different nursery themes, from woodland animals to farm ones, and more exotic ones like the unicorn baby blanket.
Why is it a 3in1 Dinosaur Baby Blanket?
The 3in1 folding dino baby blanket acts as a blanket, a toy, and a decoration for your loved one’s room.
It is a blanket that keeps your child warm and snuggly.
If you travel, your baby stays warm and entertained while playing with the dino toy attached to the blanket. At home, use this blanket as a play mat.
When not in use, fold it back and it instantly transforms into a cute animal decoration that you can rest on the armchair or the side of the cot in the nursery.

The Perfect Baby Shower Gift
The triceratops baby blanket will make a wonderful baby shower gift that can be used year after year as a blanket, toy, or playmat.
It was designed to fit in a dinosaur-themed nursery or child room, you can adjust the colors to fit in any color scheme or gender.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
I am stuck on this pattern, can you help?
Every pattern you purchase from my shop comes with help and support. I will help you get unstuck and finish your project, so you can buy with confidence and try something new.
If you are completely new to crocheting, I recommend starting with beginner patterns and building up your confidence, pay attention to the skill level of my patterns and buy only if you are already at that level.
NOTE: The free version of this pattern does not come with the same help, just because it’s not fair on those who support me and bought this pattern.
That doesn’t mean that you can’t contact me if there is a mistake or something unclear with this pattern, it simply means that you will need to learn the stitches, and the techniques, and learn how to read a pattern on your own.
You can contact me by messaging me on my Facebook page, Crafting Happiness, or by messaging me on Instagram.
Can I crochet this blanket using Aran yarn (worsted yarn #4)?
Yes, you can! The body parts will come out a little larger than my own, but still, in the same shape, use a smaller hook than recommended for Aran yarn to keep the size smaller. The blanket can be adjusted by simply crocheting more rounds.
Do I have to use the same yarn brand as you to get the same result?
No, you don’t. You can use any brand you like but pay attention to the yardage, different brands have different yardage. Here is a list of alternative yarns I recommend.
Can I change the size of the blanket?
Yes, you can. Each pattern can be adjusted by simply changing the number of rounds you make.
Can I sell items made with your pattern?
Yes, you can. Please check the copyright section for more details.

I recently made a triceratops baby blanket, and this is definitely one of the best patterns I have used. Easy to follow videos and easy to follow instructions. I love your presentation of these darling little animal loveys/blankets. I can say I would’ve loved these when I was a child. Keep up the amazing work!

I would love to b able to purchase two of the triceratops blankets for my first grandchild due in July. Can I commission someone/you to make me these????
January 5, 2021 @ 1:27 pm
HI, sorry, I only sell the patterns, my time does not allow me to do custom commissions. What you can do is buy and give the pattern to someone local to you who can make it for you. There are several handmade groups on Facebook.

I purchased this pattern to make for my future great nephew. I’m having trouble with the round 23 of the head. If I crochet 14sc, 36sc blo, 4sc as stated the head plate ends up crooked on the head when it is completed . Is this correct???
March 17, 2021 @ 9:53 pm
Hi, you can watch the video tutorials on my youtube channel (they are linked in the pattern), you can see there how I do it. The pattern is correct.
March 18, 2021 @ 12:52 am
I’m sorry but I did check with the video tutorial dated May 19, 2020 attached with the pattern I purchased on January 26, 2021 and it also listed the 23rd round as 14sc, 36sc, 4sc which did not center the head plate. I used 9sc, 36sc, 9sc and it was centered.
I do love the availability of the videos. Thanks!
March 18, 2021 @ 12:46 pm
I am happy that worked for you, it depends a lot of the yarn used and also the tension, I have made 4 heads by now because of the tutorials and every time the head plate came out centered so that’s my only guess that the yarn, hook and tension might change that.

I’m sorry. Everything turned out beautifully. Thanks you so much! I look forward to making another animal with your patterns!
