Basketweave Stitch (One Row Repeat)

Super Easy Basketweave Stitch – Step By Step Photo & Video Tutorial
I love working with back and front post stitches! They are easy to crochet and you can create amazing textured patterns like the waffle stitch or the elongated alpine stitch.
What is the basketweave stitch? The basketweave stitch is a crochet pattern constructed with front and back post double crochet stitches (fpdc and bpdc for short) and simple one-row repeat that creates a woven-like pattern similar to a basket.
I already showed you how to crochet the classic basketweave stitch, but today I will show you a simpler and easier way to create this beautiful pattern: the one-row repeat basketweave stitch.
Below you will find the step by step written pattern and a video tutorial for those of you who find it easier to learn by watching how is it done.

Basketweave Stitch Pattern
To begin, chain 38 or any multiples of 6 chains + 2 chains.
Row 1: dc in 5th stitch from hook, dc in each of the remaining chains, turn.

Row 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), fpdc around the next 3 sts, *bpdc around next 3 sts, fpdc around next 3sts*, repeat from * until you have 1 st remaining, dc, turn.

Repeat row 2 until you have the required length.

And this is how you crochet the easiest one-row repeat basket weave stitch.
